Well, maybe the car in question has a boost controller that allows the engine to run on street gas (550 HP) or race gas (630 HP).

Pete,

Thanks, but you are confusing the issue even more with two other HP figures. It doesn't really matter to me but can we settle this once and for all?

I've got to agree with Viken...Pete your posts have good information in them, but you have saturated this thread with different HP ratings

Viken, (Now don't get excited.)
I pulled the power figures for Brady. It is 530hp on low and 590hp on high. The 3.8L engine has 570hp. on low and 630hp.on high.
As for Konrad, you should check your facts.
The 208.5mph. was done with a narrow body twin that had a specialy made 6th. gear. It was perfomed at the VW testtrack in germany on a 8.5 kilometer straight. NO turbo with standart gearing can go that fast. Anyway if you want to see a fast car,the 917/30 #3 that set the closed course world reckord will be finished by saturday and shipped to England on sunday .I will poat pictures next week.

All it did was add an aftermarket chip,,And suddenly my 98 c4s was developing 621 horsepower!!!!... I have yet to explore the turbo, or supercharged methods...But at 621 horsepower, I can go 0 to 62 in less than 1 second.......MY car is just amazing..

At Roger Wards'Battle Mountain Nevada I was clocked on calibrated equipment going 208.5 with a factory stock engine in 993 Ruf wide body! The top gear was changed to .71 which happens to be a readily available gear!

Roland,
You should be a Snake oil salesman. As of today I Have found religion and believe in Santa Claus.(No more please)It took Mark Dnohue 11000hp to set aworld record of 240mph and you can can go 208.5 mph with 408hp.? You must be trying to sell your car to an Idiot.

Pete,

Be careful attacking Roland's character or integrity. He is a well-liked and respected enthusiast. If you took a little more time to read his post, you would have seen that he is talking about the top speed of his Ruf, with a non-stock top gear. When he refers to factory stock, I am certain he means the engine case/block, as a highly modified Ruf isn't going to have the mere 408hp of a stock turbo, right? More like somewhere between 480-520 hp. Moreover, there's no snake oil to his claim of 208 mph as he was clocked by a radar gun in an official CARS event.

You must mean 1,100 HP? Hopefully, 11,000 HP would get you quite a bit farther than 240 mph.

Hey Robb,

Looks like pEtE nailed me since I didn't tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth! We ran 211 in practice before the wind came up and I did use 100% race gas which the Ruf likes at the 6200 feet elevation where we ran. Thanks to SJW for the tip on A pillar fairings!
