I am curious as to how DS got those photos....
more importantly, I hope that serious bidders
see this post.... because this car might set an
all time high... but not with that work not only
being done, but not being disclosed...

Very reputable shop and they called me within 5 minutes of the cars arrival to say there was no need to proceed w. the inspection. They shared this and other photos and advised me to walk away.

Do you assume that the seller is aware of this?

I wouldn't trust a seller that's never pulled back the frunk carpeting and doesn't fully know the condition of his car.
In this situation, the best case scenario is that the seller is ignorant of the car he's selling.
Either way....walk and don't trust the seller for any car he puts on the market

I wonder what the Carfax says about this?

On a more positive note, this car looks amazing:
https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/1...-carrera-s-10/
The owner removed the entire exhaust and had it jet coated. The undercarriage of this car did not look this good new. This guy might have one up on my OCD…I did the dry ice cleaning and now I want to coat the exhaust to look like this.
Minus a few points for not coating the clamps which have turned from heat.
The PCar listing does not do justice. The option list is great and condition is concours
just ask for some frunk photos

I think this side by side speaks for itself.
Left side is the Pcar 993 vin ending 993
Right side is my car
Even the front clip is a different color
Pull back the carpet and check your 993 - I do not think you’ll see anything like the left image.
Nothing against the seller. Maybe they dont know? My experience is even the most highly regarded sellers end up with bad cars that need to be sold.
I’m just trying to save a fellow rennlister from an expensive mistake. Or at the very least allowing a potential buyer to have a chance to look closer at this area…

Long story short: I was interested in purchasing this car a few years ago, so I had it PPI’d.
Very reputable shop and they called me within 5 minutes of the cars arrival to say there was no need to proceed w. the inspection. They shared this and other photos and advised me to walk away.

Yeah that repair is horrible. Almost looks like great stuff spray foam that's been shaved back. I like that it still has the sticker from the parts department on it as well.
The coated exhaust car does look awesome. Now I know what I'm doing this winter. (I actually like the contrast of the clamps vs coating them)
