993 WB Values are UP!!!

beckseuropean's speedo-gate comments on there are absurd.
He does PPI's and reports possible mileage fraud due to finding speedo bezels that have been removed? As if Carfax and service records don't confirm mileage records. I've removed the bezels on all my gauges twice. Once to repair faded gauge needles and gauge faces and a second time to replace the bezels themselves with brand new ones (fresh paint). By his own words, almost all 993's he looks at have had the speedo bezel removed. So, all of them surely have mileage rolled back?? (joking)
What a dumb ***. He's just looking to stir the pot and has no interest in purchasing the car.

$200k for a WB is now considered giving the car away. Oh, the horror...

What's your real question? Why it's been there for a while?
Not knowing the car, I would say the price is a tad high given the miles. Not crazy high but somewhat high.
Why don't you call them and ask?

Agree with above.
You don't know the story (if there is one) unless you ask. $160k is still strong money for a 54k miles C2S. Pre-2021, the value was probably $100-110k.
Otherwise, the crazy valuations seem to be as much a BaT phenomenon as anything else.

I have spoken to the dealer several times but have not gone as far as to get a PPI. From the dealer it sounded like there might be some oil seepage of unknown origin.
Was actually hoping someone else on the board had seen this in person and might comment on condition or otherwise.

It’s a good question and the only answer I can come up with is that there is some price and quality perception dislocation between BaT and dealers. BaT is clearly winning the reputational game right now and I think that + auction dynamics means BaT creates the perception of having the most vetted cars and the best prices for sellers. I purchased a 58K mile C2S in October for considerably less from one of the most reputable dealers in the industry. I think there was a time a few months ago when dealers may have been mis-pricing relative to BaT and now they’re trying to play catch up (with mixed results)

I agree with this assessment. I picked up a 97 C2S last month from a dealer. While he was certainly aware to the general trends re: 993 values, he wasn't as well versed to the current BaT pricing dynamics, so I thought I got a good price. I've continued to monitor the market closely since, and dealers are starting to get smart to the BaT dynamic and any arbitrage is pretty much gone now.
Never get sick of images of 993, WB or NB.

Will post a proper intro thread soon. Car is in the shop now getting major service, suspension refresh, new brake lines, new headlights, etc. etc. None were surprises, so credit to solid PPI!

Here's another that has been on the lot since May of '21 https://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/...pe-c-12630.htm
Dealer is seeking BaT prices and apparently holding strong.
