Oil Overfill Symptoms
All,
What are typical oil overfill symptoms that might show up on 993s (or any of the other 3.6 engines for that matter)? Other than burning oil for a thousand miles or so, would there be any lasting damage?

Don't believe you're likely to have any lasting damage. However, you may have a mess to clean up when/if the engine "vomits" oil out the filler tube which is NOT oil tight. I'd try to siphon some out the tube - or find a service station to do that.
How much of an overfill are you talking about?

None yet. Grin. Just a mechanical curiosity.
BTW - In just a few short weeks I'll finally have a garage where I can work on the car - Look out DIY - here I come.
I guess this is the bad part of being a Mechanical Engineer. Grin.

I've been there.. basically your car will blow immense amounts of oily smoke for several miles on an overfill. It's pretty simple getting at the reserve in the right rear wheel well to drain some out.
