Post Help! Foot thro' front speaker cover!!

Help, like a complete cretin I tried to push my front door open (with my foot!) and cracked the speaker cover on the front lower two speakers. It looks like I will be able to fix the crack if I can get the front speaker cover (10 speaker option) off without further damage.

Does it just pry off? I don't want to compound my idiocy by attacking with a screwdriver without some advice!

Checked the archives but nothing obvious.

TIA

John.

I did the exact same thing to mine last week, also 10 spkr system. Did not push it, but the door bounced back on my foot as I got out. Mine is just a small crack, can barely see it, and I will leave it that way. Techart should make a door mount dead pedal for us.

You are talking about the sound option package in the front doors, right? When I bought my car the right hand one was cracked so I replaced it.

The grill is real easy to some off...you have to take off the cover that includes the carpet/grill. That is done by starting to take th inside panel off the door (check out Robin's site for info). Once that panel is off its a few screws (if I remember right) and then its off. You will figure it out pretty quick.

Order one from your local dealer...I paid about $10US for a brand new one..its cheaper than you think!

Good Luck!
