Default Spooky AC problems

Hey all,
after following much of the Complete Ac diagnosis guide. I’m at the point of measuring pressures on the system but before I do that I thought I’d post on here to see if anyone has a similar problem.

after an uneventful track day, when engaging max Ac my indicators no longer work (neither does the AC but I need those blinkers to survive)

when max AC is engaged I can see the indicator lights in the gauge light up dimly.

if I turn my headlights on I think only my right indicator works. If I engage normal AC at 2 fan speed only the right indicator works.

the compressor is not coming on as far as I can tell.

the wires into and out of the compressor look clean and intact.

if anyone has any further info about this I’d appreciate it. Otherwise I’ll keep updating this thread with findings and hopefully the answer.

Sounds like a ground lost connection somewhere.
Have you had any work done recently on the car?
Changed or remove any lamps?

I'm sorry about the absence but for anyone following along I thought i'd post an update.
What i initially thought was an AC problem has turned out to be a ... Spooky electrical problem.

So after much diagnosis it seems that i have the following problems that all appeared at once
1. A/C inoperative
2. When fan is set to 4 without A/C demand, left indicator inop.
3. When fan is set to 4 with A/C demand, neither indicator works.
4. When fan is set to 2 or higher with A/C demand, Left indicator inop.
5. When fan is set to 4 I can see the indicator lights come on very dim.
6. Intermittent speedometer (Had only one instance leaving the house where it didn't start until i was down the road)
7. A suspicion that Varioram is not activating. it is usually a reliable scream at 5k but now feels absent.

Actions I have taken :
1. Test and re-connect battery : This includes removing the battery and placing it on a trickle charger (trickle charger indicated 25% battery when it was attached but it is notoriously melodramatic)
2. Remove battery negative strap from vehicle. completely clean it and cleaned the body. used sandpaper and cleaner to make sure the connection was secured.
3. Checked all associated fuses and swapped some of the similar relays in the frunk around. in the rear i checked the fuses and all where intact however relay integrity is a mystery.
4. Checked wire integrity on the compressor including the one that snakes into the right hand covered area. cover was removed and all connections in there checked.
5. Removed seats and and found 3 ground connections from handy dandy diagram. one of which was quite ... green. Disconnected and cleaned them all.

Passenger side ground

Current state on interior

Actions I have NOT taken :
Maintain sanity

Hey, The Fogs are working, but out of curiosity i pulled the fog relay and attempted. and the left indicator blinked once. but then never again.
I made a video of current operation with all relays in place.

Isn't there a ground conection behind the dashbord?

There's at least one. It's behind fuel gauge. Not sure if it's related but easy to check:

Im gonna get that gauge off today and take a look.

I did find another fault. My Right side high beam is not working. I checked the bulb and it seemed intact. Might swap headlights to check.

There is also a ground on passenger side next to central electric fuse box at about same point as the one pictured behind fuel gage.

So i checked the ground behind the gauge and it's intact.
The fact that the 4-ways work and the left blinker doesn't really makes me wonder how likely it is losing ground.
So i was chasing deeper down the rabbit hole that JB911 suggested because my Right side high beam stopped working after i swapped relays around.
I am also ashamed to say that I had thought the wrong bulbs were the fog lights.
So I turned the fog lights on and this happened.

I'm at a loss as to what is making that sound. When i turn the high beam on (not working now) the fog lights go out and don't come back on unless I cycle the lights off and then on
I'm thinking about calling my local indy to grab a few relays and start changing.

TLDR : I'm awesome at trouble shooting (what the **** is going on)

How old is your battery? More than 5 years then I’d replace.
hows the charging circuit? Is the regulator holding 14v or so? (Wondering if there was an overcharge situation on the track)
just throwing stuff out there at this weird bug.

So the battery is from March/19. and seems to be holding a charge properly.
I'll have to look up how to check the regulator.

after a little more investigation it seems that the windshield washer fluid pump is the one making that sound ?
