when you put your coil back in cut the edge of the bracket closest to the body. if you don't after the engine flexes of it's mounts for a while the edge of the bracket will catch under the body seam under hard acceleration. sounds very scary when you back off

Install is not complete yet, so I don't know about CEL. Should have no problems with smog in Illinois.

Sachin,
You can count on getting your CEL to be emitted constantly if you remove your clock and put the boost gauge in it's place. The boost gauge from Andial looks better!

Sachin
One last thought. If you were interested in painting your fan and fan housing, now is the time. You have to remove your fan to install the new pulley. Anyone out there paint their fan besides me? It looks great once done! Here is my engine bay.

Wow, I like the painted fan. What kind of paint did you use?

Sachin,
Looks great! The pics bring back some memories form exactly one year ago when we did my SoK motor install. Hang in there, it's worth it

Thx everyone. Lots of knowledge out there.

Dale,

How did you mount the boost guage in the vent?

Darin,
I have a access to a sandblaster at work so I started with that. After removing the factory coating on the fan and fan housing I primed the pieces. I then used a high temperature engine paint. Following up with two coats of clear to seal it. The magnesium absorbs oil and moisture when exposed to the atmosphere so it is important to keep it as dry and clean as possible prior to painting. You will notice that just about every factory fan shroud and fan has pitting on it (poor prep work from the OEM). That is what turned me to paint it.

Sachin,
The Boost Vent Gauge can be directly ordered from Andial.
They supply the gauge already mounted in a replacement vent.
Great for going back to stock if need be.
It is listed under Andial.com...Go to Parts Specials.

Or for those that don't want to spend the $345.00

Thanks Dale,
If (when) I need to take my engine down that far, I think I'm going to do that.
