Pelican Parts Replacement Pewter Crest (Car Key)

Fwiw, in the closed thread someone mentioned that the pewter crests for the car key heads were smaller than the gold crest that come on the replacement heads sold at Pelican. I’m one who received only one key (original, pewter) with my car and subsequently purchased a second fob and key. (gold crest). I received the pewter crest from Pelican and wanted to show those who might prefer the pewter that it’s not all that much smaller, if anything it’s very close in size. I overlaid the pewter over the gold for reference (pic below). Hopefully this helps others who might want to do the same.

Thanks. Size seems similar but the shape is different.

The silver/pewter is definitely a different size. Coincidentally, tonight, I took my original keys that were missing the crests and attached the silver/pewter to my original keys using Super Glue.
I have also received two (2) new key heads and two (2) new key blanks from Pelican. Does anyone know how to remove and install the new key blades into the key heads when the new keys are cut?
Thanks.

Silver/pewter crest are original to the car.

Has any member taken the original pewter front cover of your key head and attached it to the rear half of the new colored Pelican key head?

Does the existing key head get damaged? How do you install a new key, after cutting a blank, in either the existing key head or in a new key head?

No damage whatsoever, new blade just pushes into the head and clicks home

How do you position the key in the vice? Key head or blade in vice? Long nose pliers are placed where?

A DIY was posted. Just do the DIY. Taking apart the key head is not complicated. It comes apart easily,.

Position the key in the vise just like this and then tighten with all your might:

I agree and I reviewed the DIY. There is also another idea posted to accomplish the same end result. I'm trying to determine which way to go. I appreciate your input.
