Disassembly and assembly questions of a key were answered here: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-for-keys.html
The topic of this particular thread is designed to show the difference in size between the pewter crests, so responses should be limited to this topic alone. The other mods and I will start cleaning up this thread if it spirals into mind-numbing redundancy like all too many threads here lately.

Friends.....any idea on how to remove the crest from the key head? There doesn't seem to be any sort of gap to get a tool underneath it, maybe a jeweler's type min screw blade?

Use a pointed object to push the crest from behind.

Do any members know whether two (2) new keys can be cut from blanks without removing the key head, or must the key head be removed in order to cut new keys.
I am asking in order to maintain the original pewter crests.

Just glued on my pewter crest. Thanks to twilight for motivating me to do this. The crest is a very tight fit so be sure to clear out any old glue or build up before test fitting and then glueing.

For other members information, I returned the OEM key blanks to Pelican and bought the Genuine Porsche key blanks from Pelican.
As you may know, I had difficulty getting anyone to cut the OEM new key blanks from Pelican. Thanks to the referral on our site, Tony Euganeo cut the new key blanks and I installed both of the new keys in the new Pelican key heads.
After the difficulty I experienced, and the leadtime from Porsche and/or Pelican, plus cutting time, I am, and I encourage others, to leave a spare key around your car and a spare key fob and a fresh spare key fob battery to access your car if you lose your key.
This experience made me think of the delay, inconvenience and subsequent costs of losing your key and getting into your car without a spare.
Another learning experience: never post a photograph of your key. Applications are made that copy your exact key from the photograph including each cut to make a new key.
I gained so much knowledge from something that I thought would be so simple.
Thanks again OCD-2 LOL
