Another question - can UDT999 show accumulated engine hours(like http://www.durametric.com/usedporschebuyersguide.aspx)? I was not able to find answer to this from their usermanual_pdt999_v18.pdf.

Paul M

If you don't see your name and want to be included please PM me.

After discussion with Paul at Jenniskens the deal will go down as follows. Paul will return from vacation on August 10th and when he confirms that he still has all limbs and is corpus mentus (not sure what his idea of a vacation is) we will pull the trigger on the deal. GB participants will ebay friends & family me the funds. I will wire transfer the entire payment to Jenniskens and Paul will ship the units to me. I will mail the individual units out via USPS priority mail with $300 insurance. In reality, the packages should start showing up in your mailboxes starting early September.

At the moment with prevailing exchange rates, $35 wire transfer fee, international shipping and US $15 shipping+insurance, the approximate cost for US participants will be

$336 - ODB1 version
$314 - ODB2 version

Some of you are in Canada so shipping fees will be greater and there could be customs duty at your end (not sure of this), some of you are in far away countries so I'm not sure how this will work but I have PM'ed you to discuss.

These are still preliminary costs so could vary a bit but at least all cost items are being considered. Think good thoughts to get the exchange rate to 1:1!

The basic rules state that group buys should be open to paid members only; however, because too much time has passed, that requirement will be waived for this group buy.

All involved should understand that Rennlist takes no responsibility for group buys organized by individuals in the community and that participation is at one's own risk.

Anyone?
If UDT999 doesn't show number of ignitions(engine hours), that is clear advantage to Durametric.

Does the 993 ecu even log this?

Same here, I found a statement that says to the effect "993 Motronic Actual Values supported are:" and elapsed hours was not in the list. Paul is on vacation now until August 10th so although I asked, we won't get a response til then.

Yes, the 19 pin round connector for ODB1 in the early 993's is supported using an adapter. This adds about $25 (approx) to the cost.

How is the number of engine hours useful without knowing the corresponding engine load?

How does this tool work in cars with immobilizers? Do you need a hard bypass as in with T-BOD?

Doesn't seem to be anything about such a procedure in the online manual. Will put the question to Paul but not expecting any response til Aug 10th.

My understanding is that when there are questions about car's true mileage, engine hours could shed additional light to that.
