Wheels and Tires
Hi everyone,
I just bought 18" Continental Extreme Contact tires for my 1998 911 Cab. I also had the aftermarket Turbo Twist wheels refinished.
I am now thinking that I want to go back to 17" wheels and tires, So if anyone would like to buy them, they are for sale. $850.00 complete.
Please be local to Long Island, NY. or close enough to meet halfway.
Thanks,
Mitch

I am local and am looking for just such a setup. Don't have 17s to trade...would you considering selling?
Are the TT wheels from a 993? (Perhaps silly Q, but would they fit 993 C4S?)
Also, which Contis did you buy?
Feel free to send me PM if you like.

I have some Cup 2 wheels in storage, no tires. Will look at their condition if interested.

16s are for retro, not just snow! I might be one of the last holdouts rocking the 16s but tire availability means my 16 days are numbered. Just picked up a great set of 17 in cups from Ivan J, who, like most rennlisters is a class act.
The good part about 16s is there is plenty of sidewall to allow you to brave the potholes post winter in Nebraska. Also, there is a distinctive visual difference between the 15-17 wheels of the 60s -90s and what I consider the absurd size of wheels today. I understand large wheels to fit larger brakes but at some point won’t we have lept the shark. I love the look of the vintage 15 in cragar wheels on my 66 mustang. And while I initially disliked the look of the 16s on the 911, it grew on me to the point I am somewhat sad nearing the transition to 17s.
Last thought, in general smaller wheels has meant cheaper tires. A good friend bought a c7 stingray and was moderating how much he was driving due to the cost of tires. I could buy a set of 4 top quality performance tires for the price of one of his tires.

may be better to split and sell separate dependant on how much you expect to sell yours for?
I had a set of Cup 3 went for $550 with winter - Pirelli - lots of rubber n fresh
Buy oem 18 Turbo look - set. Or Cup II
If you have Cup 3 - the wheels made in Italy are heavier
I have found they are Often used for snows like on a 996
Thats my take here in the north.
