Default Motorsounds to Fister 2s

My car is going in for service next week. I'm doing plug wires so mufflers have to come out, which got me thinking...should i upgrade my motorsound mufflers to Fister 2s? On other cars, I've always regretted exhaust mods because they wound up being too loud, droned, etc. I know Fister's don't drone, but i'm wondering if a Fister 2 on a motorsound will be too loud. Anyone have their motorsound mufflers converted to 2s? Would love to before and after video if any are floating around. Thanks guys!

On one 993 I have motorsounds converted to fister 1s. F 2s are great but I found the F 3s better for my other 993. Really need to hear them in person. It’s really a personal preference, Ask around here if you can listen to someone’s car with fisters who’s near you.

That sounds like heaven... I've been sitting with my unmodified 993 with motorsound exhaust thinking of doing Fisters and just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

That sound is beyond reproach even through computer speakers....that's the way to go.

Here's an alternative suggestion: Save the Motorsound mufflers, buy some decent used stock ones to send to Darin for F2's or F3's. If you decide they're too loud (doubtful), you'll have your old ones to put on. If satisfied, then you can sell the Motorsounds. They'll bring more than stock ones.

I agree. Motorsound mufflers are starting to get rare.

I didn't think that the mufflers changed - what part number do you have on them? the katalog only calls our the different mounting parts and the RS variant

993.111.046.11
993.111.046.10 RS

Either way I wouldn't collect mufflers - mod and use them.. I have the motorsound package + F3 mod and love it

Agree fully! Absolutely save the motorsound mufflers as they are getting near impossible to find, and when they do pop-up for sale, expect a hefty premium.

You can find a decent set of standard mufflers and have them sent straight to Darin to work his magic. I started off with a set of IIs, but after about 800 miles, they weren’t quite cutting it for me. I found another set and had them converted to IIIs - music to my ears, especially with RS cams.

+1
Upgraded from Motorsound to Fister III and loving it! Definitely save the Motorsound as mentioned above. Took me two years to find a set for a decent price.

Another option is to have fabspeed mufflers converted to fister 3s. Lightweight and sound fantastic. Best of both worlds.

Shameless plug, but I'm about to list a set of Motorsound Mufflers with wide oval tips for sale here.

I'd suggest what some of the members in this thread are, and to buy a second set of mufflers and have those modified. Keep the Motorsound mufflers untouched, if you should choose it.

It’s interesting...I have the motorsound package and maybe it’s because I have nothing to compare it to, but they have no real sound to them. Completely underwhelming.

Will be going Fister III. Hopefully that will get it where I want it to be.

I use the Fister III and never noticed drone
a few snap crackle POPs
Prefered to drive with windows open and sunroof open
Hang head out the window.
Nice!
Saved my originals
Did them in Silver Mag Ceramic Darin told me looks old Porsche
He was Right.
