Default 993 in 018 BlutOrange

In recent months, my 993 underwent a significant refresh: it was stripped down for a glass-out-(some)-panels-off repaint.... in the chosen colour of BlutOrange (also known as Porsche Blood Orange and Porsche Tangerine).

Realise this is considered blasphemy by the 993 purists . If you're one of them, you may wish to look away now!! . If, however, you're interested in some of the backstory and further details, you can click here.

There are only a handful of 993s in this hue; some examples/photos below:

GT2 - a car I had the pleasure of seeing first hand in 2014 per these pics: 1 --- 2 --- 3
RS CS - 1
RUF BTR2 - 12
C2S - 1 --- 2

My 993 is now back in my hands, to be driven and enjoyed. I struggled to find many images of 993 in BlutOrange, so thought I'd share photos of mine, starting with this scrollable gallery:

I had a front end respray a few years ago that turned into a windows out respray. Still kick myself for not painting it Rubystone. Looks great!

Very cool. I have an early 911 in tangerine. IMHO these very bold, bright colors benefit aesthetically from chrome trim. But I bet the 993 still looks good in it.

That is beautiful. If I were ever to do a color change on a 993 that is the exact color I would do it in. Nicely done.

In 2010 I came across the below 993 turbo at True Speed in Costa Mesa. It was in for service. It was loaded with only 9,000 miles on it. To this day it is the best looking 993 I have ever seen.

Looks GREAT!

So many cool colors out these days. I would love to do a custom windows out color change on a 993. Orange is on the top of the list! Enjoy!

Very kind of you guys!

Here's a couple of photos taken over the long weekend here in the UK:

The image above shows the clean rear look aided by the wiper delete...

This image highlights the cleaner front end aided by headlight washer delete... I also feel this photo shows a strong relationship between the 959 and 993 DNA .
