Hi, i plan to do some track days with my RS and I do not want use the original Speedline rs wheels...
What is your recommendation for track wheels with I think Michelin Sport Cup. or you have more options?

Thanks.

front
you want 8.5x18 ET54(+/- a few mm) w/ 245/35

rear you want 10x18 ET65 w/ 285/30

These tire combos can be hard to get in a given line because one or the other size is just not produced

next choice is a bit of a toss up, some use 235/40 & 275/35 which is commonly available or stay w/ 225/40 & 265/35, the main drawback w/ the former is the extra torque used to spin the wheel/tires up, comparing the two selections in RE71 the difference is ~13lb-ft of torque lost to the bigger tires(all else being equal) this is a noticeable loss.
Here's a pic of those wheels from Forgeline w/ 235/275 NT01

I got Enkei nt03+m wheels from tire rack. Reasonably priced, light, and look surprisingly good on the car. I’m running the 245/275 combo in re71r and really like it. But 225/265 would probably have been fine too. I go back and forth between these sizes on my two sets of wheels and can’t tell much of a difference, if any, in acceleration with my butt-meter. In fact this year I felt like the 245/275 combo was faster but maybe that’s because they weigh less than my other wheels, so the weight offsets the slight taller ‘gearing’.

not likely, the radius contribution is quadratic while the weight contribution is only linear

Yeah not likely then. Perhaps a calibration error

Bill,

I am running Mich Pilot Super Sports in the 225/40-18 & 265/35-18's.. It appears Michelin is. It longer making the 265/30-18....not listed or out of stock every where. What do recommend to run on the rear if I keep 225s up front? I
Thanks!

Ps- running OEM twists

Thanks Bill. Searched everywhere and that size is listed as discontinued in PSS. Looks like I will need to buy 4 tires and go with the newer 4S

Biggest problem is cleaning them

There are also different centers
using 288120 center and 1.0 inner & 7.5 outer gives an ET of 52.5
using 288108 center and 2.0 inner & 9.0 outer gives an ET of 65

but there are other ways to go

8108 center & 1.0/7.0 gives ET57 but only an 8
8108 center & 1.5/8.5 gives an ET63 which works but not as well as ET65

or
8107 center & 1.6/7.0 ET48.5 really aggressive fitment limiting ride height
8107 & 2.0/8.0 ET55 again pretty agressive limiting ride height

OZ alleggerita are also an option, and available in 8.5 and 10.

Inexpensive, light, strong for a cast wheel (super popular among the spec boxster and spec 996 crowd), and easy to source a replacement in the unlikely event you ding one.

I run Hankook Z214 slicks and/or NT01's in 245/40 275/35 and I've loved mine.

How do you fit the wheels?
Did you work the fender?
I run the same rims but i'm on the limits on space for the tires with 235/40 and 265/35. I'm very deep with 94/98 mm but your car seems to be on a similar height level.
Overall, my setup is only possible coz im running also chamber > -3.deg and fvd suspension

cheers
Holger

If you buy these you want 8.5 T53 & 10 ET65
note that they use cone seats, not the std porsche ball seat, so you will need to purchase 20 nuts w/ cone seats
