Cool or lame?
I have always loved the Aero wheel covers on race cars and noticed an aftermarket wheel manufacturer now offers Aero covers for their lineup. Considering the link our 993s have to the 959, I did a quick Photoshop and must say that I am intrigued. Anyone else dig it?

I don't hate it, but I'm not convinced. Turbofan wheels do look cool on an 80s futuristic aesthetic.

Three Wheelin'
It's a decent look ... Reminds me of that fist pic I saw of a 959 when they first came out ... I would get bored of looking at it after a short while though ... Maybe 1 season for me..

I am looking into developing a set made from carbon fiber that can be used on any rim with a lip. the center lock hardware is the easy part. Casting the CF with fins is not. Most likely will have to be two pieces.

Wheels
Check out Rotiform wheels as they offer a few variations of this style of wheel. I think it has a retro race look and I like them as second wheel to change up the look. Ultimately its your car (toy) so have fun with it with whatever you like.
BBI Autosports has a YouTube video of a 80s car they built with similar wheels. Looks pretty cool. I have attached the link. If the link does not work search Project Nasty Porsche.

These REALLY look good...but cannot confirm weight, even after calling the manufacturer. Plus, it leaves no modular options as it is not a cover, it is the actual rim center. Fifteen52 at least offers a kit to use on any style of rim, but the Aero cover is aluminum = more weight. : (

Lot of history to this design. I believe the 928 stock wheel may have harkened back to the racing wheel:
