Default Anyone know what Bilstein shocks these are?

Anyone know what Bilstein shocks these are?

The rides too harsh and the car is too low for dodgy Marin roads. Much prefer the Koni FSD's on my 95 but before I have them swapped out......

Are these adjustable for height? What about rebound and compression?

I see in the records for the car that the height was lowered but it doesn't say specifically how. That being said, no parts are listed on the invoice.

Thks

I would say the HD ones ( now called B6)? On your shock is F4-BE5-6130 -??. Checking the Bilstein US site and browsing for the 993 I get rear B6 shock and clicking on their pic, I see ??-BE5-6130-H1. If I go to the Sport shocks ( B8) their pic shows part number starting with 24-1???

They are indeed B6 shocks, adjustable spring plate to you can raise easy enough although they dont look that low, maybe check the springs and just replace them?

B6s and B8s are only height adjustable.

Maybe I'll adjust for height and swap the springs to something more comfortable. The ride is a bit brutal and I'm sure the 19mm sway bar isn't helping.

You may be riding on M030 springs- check the color marks. I’ve had them and they are stiff. H&R springs are a bit better but still firm. M033 springs may be your best bet. Hell, do you know how old these Bilsteins are? Since they all have to come off the car, and you’re paying for labor to swap out springs, I’d make it worthwhile and get FSD/Special Active while yer at it.

Yeah, they're not leaking at all and they could be 12yrs old but with maybe about that many miles on them.

The springs are almost 100% M030 as I have a service record of them being installed.

Did you have the M030 or M033 springs with the Koni FSD's on your previous car? I really liked the ride. I would eventually like to go with the Koni Special Active and the ROW M030 (love the look) springs if the ride is not too stiff.

M033 springs give you the lower height like the Euro M030 but a more comfortable ride.

Sounds like that's what you're looking for.

I believe it was the softer M033 RoW springs. I liked the ride so much I put the same setup on my next car and will do the same for this "new" one.

How much difference do sways really make in regards to the ride? Willl they contribute that much to the harshness of the ride?
The reason I ask is that one of my cars has PSS9s and RS sways...my wife hates to ride in it and curious if I’d gain much by swapping sway bars.

I think they make a huge difference but I might be crazy. I had a harsh setup on the last car I bought and swapped the suspension and springs to FSD's and M033 RoW's but not the sways. I was disappointed with the ride afterwards so I then swapped out the RS sways and the ride for me was transformed.

RS Sways Should add some stiffness, tighten up the suspension and reduce roll in corners > hence a firmer ride
Could you just reduce settings in your PSS9's to soften your city ride for the Mrs?

I installed those HD's with M033 springs for my daily driver. I wanted to lower the car but still have a comfortable driver.
This works pretty well. Had this set up for about 10 years now. Wouldn't mind a bit softer ride as I do not track or DE.

You can send them out to Bilstine if they need rebuilding for a lot less than new. If you mate them up with H&R progressive springs you may end up with a more street like ride. If you really want to smooth things out go to smaller diameter rims with taller tires, this makes a huge difference.
