Hello guys, I’m in search of a Lower mike, well taken care of (White) C2S or C4S.. it’s a fun search and would really appreciate your advice here. Please let me know your thoughts. I think it’s priced really High, bumpers were painted (not sure why) please let me know your thoughts https://www.chequeredflag.com/1997-P...7/Details.aspx

FWIW - I’m currently searching too and that doesn’t seem high to me based on what else I’ve seen. Obviously depends on the car.

Hmmm struggling a bit because the two shops I can think of aren't super close. Callas in Torrance is litarally one of the best but it isn't exactly close (18 miles). The other is TLG in North Hollywood but that is even further.

Last summer I used and was very happy with M-a-r-c B-i-x-e-n at Red Line Service (redlineservice.net), which isn't too far from there.
I am also planning to stop in to ChequeredFlag on Mar. 28, and it was one of the cars that caught my eye (though I really don't need another!). I have never bought from them but have spoken with Neal and he seems to be a straight-up guy.
Glad to share my experiences if you want to send me a PM with your contact info.

Not trying to pick a fight! This is a totally well intentioned question looking for more context.
As a current 993 shopper myself, I'd love to understand how you got to $85K. I could see that being just the discount that seems "reasonable" off of an asking price at a used car lot. That would make sense. Or do you have more concrete info to support that number? I'm asking because I'd love to be better armed as I enter in to negotiations to buy a car in this general price range. I haven't seen much to support getting a fairly low miles C4S at $85K but the car in question has a lower asking price than I've seen as well (which makes me wonder about it).

Let me put it this way.... 21+ years now, many wrecked, junked, need tons of work, High Milage, modded etc.... not many pristine low mile examples exist.
C2S = 3,714 Produced Worldwide and only 1,752 made it to US and Canada.
C4S = 6,948 Produced Worldwide and only 2,327 made it to US and Canada.
Turbo = 5,937 Produced Worldwide and only 1,909 made it to US and Canada.
By today’s standards that is nothing as far as production numbers!
From my experience.....If you find a nice car buy it. Don’t screw around or someone else will buy it. Doubt the seller will negotiate much on a excellent example.
I feel these cars are still under appreciated and have room to increase in value. Last of the Aircooled and mostly hand built cars. Only issue is many of the good Aircooled Mechanics are getting older and retired. 10 years from now servicing these cars will become more difficult finding qualified mechanics thus why Porsche has been instituting the Classic Program.

It was a lot of cash but ultimately, every time I look at it, my heart skips a beat.
I had looked at many other C2S and C4S's but I wanted a white or maybe arctic silver car so my options were extremely limited.
Now to prep my black 95 for sale. "It's not that I don't love you, I just love that one more so you have to leave "
