On a serious note, I've got a brand new one I'll send you for shipping. PM me if you want it.

Thats very kind - thank you! I’ve already ordered the part, so perhaps someone else here can use it.

That is definitely caused by using water-cooled oil instead of air-cooled oil. Maybe a new post asking about the best oil for a 993?

This is the sort of problem that happens when you consistently overfill the oil... you should know better

That’s an excellent point. I had my shop use water-cooled oil for the last oil change as it was significantly less expensive and the service advisor said it was Porsche approved. I’ll mention it next week when he comes to pick the car up.

I'm not sure why we even put up with these cars. Rubber and plastic parts shouldn't do stuff like this after only 20+ years.
Sure, they look cool from the outside.... but ya think they could have put more effort in other areas.

That's not true!
That's from the soft valve guide material, elbow grease and a malfunctioning SAI check valve. Those things almost never break!
Sorry to see you have to go to the headache an expense, Andreas...
I was going to poll for a collection on your behalf!.

Probably caused by undue cavitation from the removal of the engine undertray. The factory knew what they were doing when they installed those.

That or dry rot from living on jack stands 11 months out of the year.

I might have one. Ordered the wrong part when my car wouldn't run due to what you have experienced. Apparently there are two versions of your failed part.. PM me.

Where did you mount the heat exchanger for the water cooled oil?
