I think the Porsche radio is way too expensive. I use a Bluetooth adapter that cost me 20 bucks that allows me to stream music, gives me step by step directions from my phone’s navigation app (without interrupting the music), allows me to answer and talk on the phone, and it even charges the phone.
Unless you don’t have a smartphone, I don’t see the point of this Porsche classic radio at all.

For v3 of this Porsche Classic thing, they should ditch the tiny screen and bundle it with a "digital" tach gauge. The round screen could handle modern infotainment as well be a configurable RPM, speed, whatever gauge similar to modern Porsches. You could make it nearly plug and play for the 964 and 993. With minor wiring you could get even get broad digital info from the DME in cars that support it. The possibilities would be endless.

"As far as pricing, these new head units don’t come cheap. The single-DIN variant will retail for $1,556.74 (€1,439.89) and the double-DIN model for $1,736.33 (€1,606)."
that would be a great big nope for me, course I just bought a Continental unit from Tore earlier this week so it is a moot point anyway

I make the assumption that the answer is no, but has anyone seen any documentation indicating this will have preouts? I haven’t been able to find a picture of the back.

I like my continental too it’s a great value but I appreciate this and would like one. I also like the new Blaupunkt retro Bremen but even that is $500.

Generally they were discounted around 10-20% off from retail before they were discontinued and became scarce, yes still no cheap. If it’s anything like the old models we’ll see some discounts, but these do offer more features and functionality.
