Question about SAI delete on 95

I deleted my SAI system awhile back, using the Patrick Motorsports plugs. At the time I failed to notice that when you remove the SAI system, it leaves an open hole in the bottom corner of the back of the air box where there is a spigot that used to connect to the SAI pump inlet hose.

What's typically used to cleanly plug this hole?

Yes.

Which is to say... anything. RTV, epoxy, silicone, silly putty, whatever you got. You'll never see it, so don't overthink it.

A Yakima roof bar end cap is a perfect fit :)

Yep. I deleted mine ten years ago and have done the same to 3 or 4 other 993s over the years.

Andreas - what's the advantage to deleting the SAI on our '95's?

Thanks

Robb

Main reason is that things are more accessible. For example, I just had a failed oil pressure sender, and replacing it was a two minute job since that junk wasn't in the way. And besides, the pump often doesn't even work because of clogged SAI passages or rusted out check valve. 95 owners can remove it because we won't a CEL. 96+ will get a CEL, unless alternative electronic/mechanical measures are taken.

For those who haven't searched here are two DIY's on this

TBH I have tried to follow both and literally am awaiting Andreas to stop on by to smack me upside the head and show me what I am doing wrong (partially deleted SAI here).

Hope someone can use either one of these and make more sense....

Best,

Paul
