Servo motor sale

Just in case anyone is interested. I just picked up a 993-624-325-00 Vent Control Motor from Sunset for $251.41

Good price! Which servo is the vent control in Tore's photographs. What are you using to replace your new part?

I had written my experience with a fresh air servo that I sent to Germany to rebuild. I took my motor to UPS and UPS wanted $160.00 to send my motor to Germany, excluding the repair cost. I took my motor to the post office instead and the postage was $40.00 to send it to Germany. I declared the value in the amount of $400.00 (replacement cost). The postal service was unable to provide tracking to the section of Germany where my motor was sent. After three (3) weeks of multiple emails to confirm receipt of my motor with the repair shop in Germany, I learned that my motor would not clear customs unless $50.00 in customs fees were paid, or the motor was being returned to the United States. I still do not know whether or not my motor is being returned to the United States after riding to and from Germany. Also there are communication issues and conversion from Euro's to dollars. The time and costs expended, as well as not having heat for almost a month were intolerable.
Instead, I purchased a new fresh air servo from Porsche for $350.00 and I received my motor immediately . I brought my car to my Porsche dealer and had the motor installed with no aggravation while waiting.
There are many members on our site who are knowledgeable and willing to help, and may have a positive experience in comparison.
Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I appreciate all of the members who helped.
An alternative, although this will not work for me, is considering buying the rebuild kit from Germany and rebuilding your motor in your house. This will avoid the difficulty of shipping to Germany, customs, tracking, insurance, that I encountered. You will still have to deal with communication difficulties and Euro conversion.
I recommend weighing the cost of a new motor installed, versus the time to remove the old motor, time to rebuild the motor, the cost to rebuild the existing motor, communication difficulties, currency conversion, and the inconvenience of not having heat.
There may not be significant savings, if any.
This is a personal decision.
Again, there are knowledgeable members on our site that are helpful.

Blue Ocean,
I see the locations of three (3) Servo motors in the frunk.

1. Temperature Mixing Flap P/N 993.572.905.00
2. Servomotor Fresh Air Flap P/N 964.624.901.00
3. Servomotor Defroster Flap P/N 964.624.902.00
Please let me know where your P/N 993.624.325.00 is located?
Thank you.

I am a little confused as the catalog shows only one of these motors 993.624.325.00 in what seems to be in the footwell position.
I understand that there is one in each footwell driver side & passenger side. Could this simply be a cataloging error?
Can someone give some insight into this?

Blue Ocean,
Did you buy your mixer servo P/N 993.624.325.00 instead of rebuilding your original motor?

Blue Ocean 02-11-2019 12:47 PM

Well, maybe I ordered the wrong one. I need the passenger foot well servo.

And yes Twilight, I decided to just order a new one instead of repairing since I could not get a reply from PARTisan

Just checked the part number of the servo I pulled from my passenger foot well, an sure enough it is same as the one I ordered - 993 624 325.00.
Guess we will see what connector comes on the shaft.

Blue Ocean,

Both servo motors for the cabin are the same part number.
