Anyone know why the only 3.8 p/c kit for sale seems to be the RSR that requires a rod change as well? What's the reason for this? And if changing rods is the only way to get to 3.8, what are people using?

For others looking for the same as OPs initial request,
I had the same trouble, locating an drop in 3.8 kit for standard 993 bottom end.

You can buy a MAHLE 3.8 P/C kit which does slip in to your existing OEM engine bottom end here: https://msroadrace.com/Porsche-993-M...arch=993%203.8
Now it is the same kit for 993 and 964s apparently. Mahle has constructed a new design on the wristpin area, yet they claim to have still the same durability as before.

I have bought one of these sets and will mount it to my ongoing engine upgrade, and report back once all is mounted and tested.
