Reason why I would never sell my car...
Because I could not bear seeing it in being driven by some else... apart from the fact I find 993s terrific...

Never say never as statements such as this foreshadow unforeseen circumstances in one's life. I would have said this about my first Porsche until it got wrecked and never drove the same after being repaired.

in the case of my 993 cab because I could never get out of it what I have into it
in the case of my 944 because it was my first Porsche
but in general all my cars because like Dierks Bentley sings, "I hold on". Good at buying them not good at selling them

since i purchased my '72 project car, i have been spending more time in the 911 forum than the 993 forum - it is surprising how often someone posts a thread in that forum searching for a car they sold many years ago. you can see the desperation to find a car they now regret letting go. it has certainly struck me as something to really think about should i decide to sell one of mine. frankly, my SC has more sentimental value than my 993 - so it might be the toughest to let go for me.

Because it was my brother’s, when he passed it came to me, and it’ll be my son’s one day. Couldn’t afford her, could never replace her, and learned everything about her, so I could properly care for her.

because i’ve wanted one since i was a teenager (i.e., childhood dream car)...and i lost my first house in a divorce but i kept my 911! it’s still a work in progress.
