Black cars - worth the effort (for good weather use only)

Midnight Blue is almost as difficult as black. I use a foam cannon to wash, final rinse is with pure DI water (eliminates water spots), and blow-dry it with a Master Blaster. I found that most of my swirl marks were caused by drying it, no matter what material I used (pure cotton, microfiber, etc., they all left marks). Blow-drying the car with the Master Blaster made a huge difference.

I said that too, about several black cars ago (87 Turbo Supra, 90 300CE, 09 Sienna,) but still wound up with a black 96 993. Bought on condition over color. Just the way it happened.

What’s with this obsession to have a sparkling clean car? I like my car regardless of its degree of shine. My primary concern is to enjoy driving it, not how shiny it appears.
Is this an obsession with drivers in the US?

What about air conditioning a heat soaked black car?

Black 993's are beautiful but high maintenance. You must be very patient, with the skill to repeat the cleaning steps over and over. I didn't have the patience. After washing my black 993 Turbo, it immediately looked dirty. But you have the patience and skill. Go for it

after 12 years with my black 993 I would not do it again. Sure looks beautiful right after a wash but it doesn't last. Just too much maintenane!

For a DD i'd ceramic coat it. MUCH easier to maintain clean than a non-coated car.
If you do go that route, make sure to choose a quality coating and dont cheap out.

Black is beautiful! But not as a daily!
