Default Painting Calipers Question

I am in the process of stripping down my calipers for refinishing. I am replacing the spring plates as well. Question: Do I paint the calipers and then install the spring plates or do I install the spring plates before paint and then paint over them when I paint the caliper?

May I ask why are you replacing your spring plates? I left mine in when I got my set powdercoated.
I am just trying to understand why you would need to replace them...

Best,
Paul

I read where they deform over time due to the spring pressure. So are your spring plates covered in powder coat or did you mask them off?

Took mine off, wire wheeled them and reinstalled after paint.
