Age Poll

I’m involved in a number of automotive hobbies and have noticed that many of the members are now grey haired. Just wondering what the age mix was for the 993 Rennlisters?

Not grey haired. Just bald! I'll be 46 this may! Bought my first 911 (1993 C2) when I was 35. Have owned my 993 for 6 years now!

So how old are you?

Not grey haired, not bald (yet). I'll be 54 in a week. Bought my first 911 (76 Targa) when I was 25 & have owned my 993 for 3.5 years

I’m 56 Gavonder. The Muscle car and Panhead crowds are almost all grey now. Thanks to good genes...I have very little grey, but it is coming in. Bought my first 993 at 46.

I remember seeing your car for sale (not sure if it was kijiji or autotrader). Seemed like a great deal at the time. Was listed shortly after I bought mine I believe.

Glad you still own it and are happy with it!

My 1995 993 was purchased in 2003 with 8,000 miles when I was 33.
Almost 50 now with almost 50k miles. I am not as good as I once was, but the car is.

Thanks, it's been a fantastic car. A total dream car. I recall you sending your congrats back when I purchased it too.

No one under 30? It's not even a poll option!

rcropp1 01-01-2019 09:54 AM

I'm currently 48 and bought my first Porsche a 997 when I was 44. Bought my 1995 993 C2 when I was 48, wish I was wise enough to have followed my dreams earlier. But happy to finally be part of the family.

That’s my fault, I thought I could only do 4 options. Go easy on me, i’m Old and it was my first poll!

I've owned mine for 20 years now. Do I vote my current age or my age when I bought it? :)

Onami 01-01-2019 10:11 AM

Current please

Age is just a number. Attitude is everything. I hate to hear some geezer say "Do you know how old I am? I'm XX years old!" as though it were some badge of courage. Observation: You'll find that most Porsche owners are somewhat older because it takes a certain level of income to afford one. Younger drivers tend to not be as educated about quality, engineering and performance. (On the flip side, as soon as I got out of the Navy and got my first civilian job, I bought a brand new 912)

44 though People say not a day over 30. Its the Asian genes I guess.....that and Snowboarding (I own a Snowboard Shop) keeps you young.
