Default Dead Pedal Selection

Hello alll,

Yes, my first post. I have a 1998 993 cab. It’s triple black but has the brushed aluminum options for the shifter, brake handle, and door sills. I’d like to complement that look by adding brushed pedals. I found a set I like, however the dead pedal is flat, as opposed to the style that bends around and has a side to it on the right side. (LHD).

Can anyone comment on the flat vs “bent” dead pedal in terms of look, effectiveness, installation, etc? a google search for a picture of a flat dead pedal installed in a car did not show anything.

Thanks!

Go Rennline. Best looking pedals, IMO, including the dead pedal.

but these are purty and have the Porsche script on them

I agree about the Rennlines, At the risk of sounding too thrifty I have to add 30% to the price for exchange, plus about $80 or more for shipping to Canada, so effectively double the price you see by the time it’s in my hot hands.

Im just not sure about the fact the dead pedal is flat when so many others are not.

It also wouldn't fit. If I remember correctly back to the time when I've played with a few dead pedals, you do need the vent one. Rennline-style.

Rennline pedal is $60 now: http://www.stableenergies.com/Rennli...tinfo/REN-P13/ And, yes, exchange rate sucks for you guys and shipping might be an issue. I'm also frugal. But at that price point it's a decent buy. That, or look for a used one. They don't really wear out.

Those are not for a 993, they look like 996 / 997 ones. For a 993 LHD they need to be the oblong type

I'm thinking I may have to take advantage of the current 15% off Rennline sale and get a set of these pedals. And just maybe the floorboards too...

Thanks here is how I made it if anyone interested. There are pop rivets not seen going into the side of mount as well.
Stainless pop rivets, T-6 angle extrusion, T-6 plate and stainless flathead hex drive machine screws into metric rivnuts. It is as solid as a rock under my foot.

Very interesting. The angle portion makes it seem that a bent version is needed, even if a wraith claims it fits. I suppose it could be a “not exactly as pictured” situation

Thabks for all the help!

You are right the chassis dead pedal is bent at a slightly more acute angle than 90 degrees but with pop rivets on both sides of angle it is really stiff.
