Default iPhone Ashtray Mount

I know this has been discussed previously in multiple threads, but I really liked the ashtray smartphone mount that John Rygg 3D printed. I tried to PM him and could not send as his mailbox was full. I suspect he may not be as active on the forum as before. Can anyone point me to where I can either obtain one of those ashtray mounts, or to a person who may know where I could obtain one? I don't have a 3D printer so I would be helpless to try and make one myself.

I've had his ashtray iPhone mount for about a year or so, and it's a great piece of kit

Don’t mean to be curt here, (to the posting giving a link that I already have) but you obviously did not read my post. I already said there were postings and that I could not contact John Rygg.

It sure looked like it! That is why I am trying to contact him. It is the best mount idea I have seen yet!

Find his thread on the 964 board and reply on it and it will bump it to the top. Perhaps you can contact him there.

Good luck

Not sure if you are blind of afflicted by some other sort of disability, but the link I've wasted time finding for you after: "I tried to PM him and could not send as his mailbox was full" has his actual email address. You are quite welcome.

Another 15 seconds of Googling brings up his actual contact phone numbers, email addresses, actual address, should you want to write him a letter: https://www.beenverified.com/people/john-rygg/ He's the one in Omaha. Here's his LinkedIn page with picture if you want to see the man's face: https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnrygg/ But... yeah, sure, I obviously did not read your post. You are welcome.

Jon, if you have no luck with John Rygg check out Scotts version next time you see his car. Its similar in that it uses the ashtray to mount but holds the phone higher than Ryggs version. He built it himself.

Goofball, am I reading properly between the lines?

Thanks JB. I did in fact talk to Scott about it. We discussed trying to convert his hand-built version into a 3D file in order to send to a 3D printer. It made more sense to me to try and contact John first, after all, no sense in trying to reinvent the wheel when John's piece looked to be well designed.

You are correct, It's sad to see lazy, entitled attitude on Rennlist. Rick, you've been here longer than I have. Do you feel that any research is actually warranted?
