Sunroof delete project help.
 

My car is going in for a complete respray and 'while I'm in there' I thought I'd get the Fenn-lane sunroof delete panel and get rid of a never used feature of my car.

What else do I need and where do I get it? Who sells non-sunroof headliners? Do a need an underlay? Rods, hardware etc?

Any help would be appreciated.

I just did this on my C2S. I got opinions from Ilko and Cobalt along with searching on Pelican for old threads where Chris from fennlane commented. I purchased the following:

Sunroof Delete panel - Fenn Lane in the UK contacted via Pelican
non-sunroof headliner from Southbound Trimmers in the UK.
The CORRECT headliner rods from Fennlane or Stuttgart Classica UK
For the underlay I used 1/4" dynamat
I didn't use the Porsche headliner clips - planning on installing the headliner in in about 2-3 weeks. We'll use the the binder clip and glue method.

I went over this thoroughly with my body shop several times prior to touching the car and was confident with their level of skill to complete the job. Everything must be done carefully and competently including the removal of the existing sunroof and cassette or you'll have to replace the whole roof assembly. They ended up TIG welding all around BOTH inside and out of the panel filling in all the gaps with metal taking care to alternate sides and watching temperatures for shrinking/warping (As per Ilko and Cobalt, we did not spot weld). Then worked the metal following the template provided to get the perfect tension and curvature. They needed hardly any filler maybe a pea size amount on one area they didn't want to work to hard. They used a metal based filler as recommended by Fennlane. If your body guy is really good you might not need any filler, Spyerx did a sunroof delete on his 964 and didn't use any filler all metal work. That's the goal if you can find a true craftsman but ultimately I was very happy with the delete.

There may be less to see than you'd like but anything I get will share happily. I am taking a black car that I love minus the color and getting this done.....

Not so much the wheels, that's just the best profile I could find. Graphite blue metallic. Ducktail and RS splitters, front and rear bumperette, washer nozzle, license plate holes and sunroof delete. 2-tone interior and carbon fiber hard-back seats as well as leather retrimming on all the interior touch points. I know it doesn't make sense financially. I don't really care.

I'm going to get the stock decklid and front under vents painted as well so I have future choices.

I'm planning on a ducktail myself, and already have the RS front splitters with a Euro front bumper and washer nozzle delete (and RS washer fluid tank). As for all the other stuff, you are WAY beyond my capabilities! :D

Full respray and sunroof delete carried out by Ninemeister. Complete roofskin from Porsche, headliner from Southbound supports from Porsche interior lights delete now footwell as RS. Roof was sectioned at A and C pillars.RS rear screen, no heat no wiper.

Gmorat - Can you post more photos of your Graphite Blue Metallic 993? That thing looks awesome!

I will have in about 3 months or so! Car is with a local P-car specialist getting the last of the mechanical issues addressed and then goes off at the start of the year. I am currently stocking up on all that I need for everything which will include spoilers, spltters, turbo ducts, sunroof delete panels and headliners, grills etc.

I have also procured a set of cashmere/carbon hardbacks from Germany and sent all the touchpoints off to Classic 9 to be covered in leather as well as getting carbon fiber trim from Marcus B in Germany produced to get the interior to pop.

I may finish off with a sport classic radio but for the moment, the Continental unit I got from ToreB looks appropriate.

Hopefully, it's going to be sweet.
