If you do not hear the fuel pump, that is your issue (whether it is fuel pump itself or something related to power to it). Easy enough to check power with a multimeter.

And yes, sitting for 5 months would make me think fuel pump is stuck. Hitting them does work IME (but not IME on a 993). Sometimes even rocking the car works. How much fuel is in the tank now?

Eventually the car will be up and running again, please don"t forget to tell us about what was cause of the problem then!

The norm here is that we never are told what caused the prpblem, or are there hundreds of non running 993s out there!

Are You sure it's not the immobiliser?

You probably missed I mentioned early in the thread there is no immobilizer. This is a 95 and has regular keys with no key fob. No immobilizer light on the dash.

OK no spark, then did you next check for 12 volts on the coils? If OK, next one would check for the three 12 volt powers coming to the DME ECM.
At the most, it should take about 15 minutes to determine the source of the no-start.

Well, mine is a 94! Do You have an alarm that You activate/deactivate with the key in the door lock when You lock/unlock the door? If so then You have a immobiliser but an older type. But they seldom causes trouble!

The two wires to the coil do not seem to be getting 12 volts on either coil. That was while cranking.

The workshop manual details a bunch of steps for this kind of problem. Have you worked through those yet? I did some of that, like even got an oscilloscope to check the signal from the doohickey-black-box-objects under the driver seat (igniters?). Some good stuff there.

That 12 volts comes from the ignition switch (#15) which also powers the injectors. Hopefully, someone didn't add an aftermarket alarm function to control that voltage.
The black wires on the coils supplies the 12 volts. You can jumper that point to the plus terminal of the battery with the key-on and attempt to start the engine.

Cant find my 993 manual. I’ve been using my 356 manuals heavily the last three years but, can’t find my disc or paper 993 manual.

What could interrupt the coil voltage? DME or crank sensor?

On a 1995, the coils are fired by an ignition module under the driver's seat. Maybe check the wiring and ground.
In the attached file, check 0 227 100 200 [ BIM 200 ] on pages 1 and 2.
