That wheel is one of a few that I have had CarDreams do, they are in Poland. There is currently a group buy being put together: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...l-recover.html

Thanks...I saw the group buy, but not sure I want to wait that long. It does look like they do nice work. I may contact Dallas Steering Wheel to see what their turn-around time is. I also have to get my Expedition's wheel re-wrapped.

I agree that the turnaround time can be an issue, with cars that I put up for the winter it wasn't. On one vehicle I did buy a ratty core to use while I waited for the wheel to be finished, sold it afterwards. When I priced out Dallas compared to Cardreams it was a no brainer especially having a few wheels done at once, things may be different now. Good Luck......Mark.

From what I've heard, yeah, 3+ months at least. That could have changed, but they seem to have been really, really busy.

Either way, my suggestion is to have a spare wheel so you are not in a hurry.

I have the Raid, similar to the Ruf above - with silver aluminum bottom that matches my alum shifter and handbrake options perfectly. Keeps the airbag too, although it's plastic-looking.

That said - it's actually a little small/thick for my liking... just a preference.

I have a Cup suede wheel in the GT3 - it vibrates with every nuance in the pavement - amazing feel, I love it. See pics of Bill V's thread - you can see how it would look in a 993. If I was going to forego the airbag, I would go with that or the 993 RS. Probably the latter in a street car.

Cheers

Matt

When the leather become shiny, smooth & slippery after 20 yrs of grime & oil from your hands, its time to recover your steering wheel... no amount of cleaning & conditioning while bring back that nice leather feeling.

Daytona GT 340mm. Leather.
Pricey but one of the best upgrades.
340mm is very sporty.
Wheel design is very ergonomic in terms of bolstered areas on the wheel.
Very well built - flappy paddles very nice to use.
Didn't want alcantara - don't like the feel when it gets warm.
Kept accidentally pressing horn buttons for the first week. Fine once you are use to it.

I recently installed the 993 RS wheel and LOVE the way it looks BUT I find it too be too thin. I thought about recovering it but since the wheel is brand new, I didn't want to mess with it and ruin the beautiful stock leather and stitching.

If anybody has a used one they want to part with let me know.

Im 6,1’’ and have long armes/legs. The OE fourspoke wheel did give me a rather stressful seatingpostion with a long reach and akward legs position. I tried the Porsche cup wheel in a friends 964 and that was it. I was sold.
With the cup wheel I have much better seating position and control when driving actively (also a much better feeling in the steering itself combined with ERP bumpsteerkit, pss10, weighted and aggressive street setup on the wheels).
If I remember correctly the cup wheel moves the wheel itself 3’’ closer to the driver giving the driver a option of racing inspired 90 degree angle on the elbows.

Diametre is 360mm and wheel is concave with adapter. You also have to make a airbag delete if fitting this steeringwheel. Link to Cup steeringwheel

Thank you

Thanks. I love how it looks with my red interior accents too.

I haven't seen one for sale since and this was the only one I'd seen for sale when I bought it from one of the forum members who had listed it for sale a couple years ago. The Porsche part number is the same as for the black stitched versions so searching by part number doesn't help.
