My '07 BMW 335i coupe, 6-speed- marvelous, purchased 7-years ago with low mileage.
Salvage/branded title after a fire in a right front light. An incorrect, higher output bulb had been substituted by the p.o., wires ignited, spread to engine bay. Probably halogen. Insurance called it over..
Refurbished by a local group, perfect ppi, pretty cheap, no related subsequent issues.
Lessons in choosing bulbs, assemblies, current draw.
Halon fire extinguisher always close!

On a similar note, does anyone have pics of their turbo ducts fog light retrofit with a HID mini projector? The hella led driving lights that came with them are useless...

Why don't you guys do a proper search:

Done it 5 years ago. The Morimoto kit wasn't even available back than. System still working strong with 55w ballasts. Added 2 fans per housing too. Had it temp. controlled in the beginning but now runs permanently.
Had 1 burner go bad on me after 4 years, replaced both.
Morimoto now has LED projectors that will fit too. I contemplated the change but I'd have less light so I'll wait for improved versions in the future.

To clarify, does any one have any recent examples of using a modern mini projector in a turbo duct fog light housing not the head light housing. There have been references to this setup with a mini morimoto and a post @ilko did several years ago for a hella micro de halogen fog lamp housing which is different... Unless that is the only solution for a lamp in the duct?
Thanks

Thanks that was really helpful. Unfortunately I was not clear on my questions.

Did some research and the "mini" morimoto H1 7.0 that everyone uses to retrofit the headlight projector will not fit into the turbo duct. It has a lens of 70mm diameter and a housing of 73mm height.
The turbo duct has a lens opening of about 50mm diameter and can squeeze in a housing < 60mm height
The closest projector I could find is the morimoto matchbox 2.0. It has a lens of 48mm diameter and a housing height of 55mm

Is the morimoto matchbox everyone is talking about retrofitting the turbo duct light with? Or when we refer to mini morimoto we are retrofitting the headlight projector?

Will the below H1 bulb work in our 993s for a high beam? Seems pretty big.

All bit the bullet this weekend and bought the the retrofit source mini morimoto kit to replace my projectors. Recently doing more driving to work as I have a great country back road to get my work now. Downside with daylight savings no longer in effect my Tore HIDs and standard highs not enough light... Here is a 10% off code TRSHJ

So, in order to get 6000K high beams, one needs to order the Cyclops LED high beam, for example?
What if you upgrade the projectors to Morimoto projectors only with the RQ kit? Does THAT allow high/low output from Tore's HID bulb?
