GT3 Muffler Setups
Wanted to get everyone’s opinion on using a GT3 muffer. It def looks cool but my priority isn’t looks. Will it make more power? I also don’t want anything too loud or that drones. I can have a system built locally with headers, heat, cats into a GT3 muffler using both ports so it’s not too loud. What do y’all think? Worth it or not on the 993?

Unfortunately no usable sound files or videos available yet.
I too would love a center exhaust, the look is more important than performance on my end.

I think Dave at ButziGear in CT did a gt3 center exhaust on a customers white 993. Saw it at the 70th anniversary event at MetLife stadium in June. Looked great and sounded even better!

Have you seen this one: https://www.aasesales.com/products/noloc-a73-t-113119 ? I believe it is made by Stuttgart Classica: http://www.stuttgart-classica.co.uk/...inless-exhaust

if someone decides to order this make sure you confirm, with pictures, that this will fit a 993.
the reason we can't purchase one of the dozens of header systems built for 911s over the decades is because of the rear cross member.
looks like this version maybe solves that by angling the headers down.
my guess from the picture is it doesn't fit, would either hit the rear cross member and/or the sway bar.
another problem is that if it did angle down enough to clear the cross member it would stick out below the sway bar by 2-3 inches.

Here is mine. The way the GT3 Muffler is setup using both ports will not work properly and will be loud. The GT3 muffler has 4 inlets total, 1 large and 1 small on each side. The large ports ~2.5" essentially make a straight through muffler, the small ports ~2" creates a long exhaust path that significantly quiets the sound. My suggestions would be to setup valves so you can switch between them, trying to use both will send the exhaust through the path of least resistance, therefore the large port and be loud.

Sorry about all the pics, here are some of the engine out of the car to give better idea of setup. You can actually use a standard 997 Turbo/GT3 Muffler bracket that bolts up to the 993...

No Cats, I am allergic to them. , The headers do have heater boxes, however I don't use them.
Parts: GT3 Center Muffler, Fab Speed Headers, GT3 Side Mufflers (cut up for parts), 2.5" Stainless tubing,
A friend of mine did the fab between the end of the headers and the muffler, I cut up a set of GT3 side mufflers to get the valves and parts that go into the center muffler. The fab work was about 6 hours, I got mates rates so my cost is irrelevant.
