Default Securing Floor Mats

Anyone know how my driver's side floor mat is secured to prevent my mat from slipping? Mat looks as though it should be secured.

This looks like it should be attached to prevent my mat from sliding. Only appears on the driver's side.

Thank you!

There should be a hole in the rear end of the mat with a plastic cap that crews into the floor to secure.

Thats for the carpet, overmats, if Porsche versions have metal brackets off the seat runners, looks like yours are aftermarket and that spike if supposed to hold them in place

Thank you again. I will check the mat and the carpet to be clear what is in or not in my car. I know this exsts only on the driver's side. I will send photographs of what I have now that I know what I'm looking for.

Thanks

Default Mats

I bought mats from the dealer a few years ago. Both fronts had the clamp-and-pin device you show. It’s fussy to use because your feet move the carpet and the pin works loose. I haven’t seen something that attaches to the seat runners but that might work better.

HiJimPA,

My mat only has the pictured item on the driver's side. The passenger mat does not have the item in my photograph. I'm still looking where to attach the pin, but you're right, feet move the mat.
I would love to see specifically where the .passenger side attaches.
Thanks,
Harry

Default Mats

I understand that your car only had one clamp. It may never have been there or simply was lost or put aside by the PO.

There is no specific attachment location for the clamp/pin. I have mine in the middle of the rear edge on each mat. I suspect using two per mat (one toward each side of the rear edge) might offer more stability but it still seems to be a poorly designed fastening system. Can someone provide pics and part numbers for an alternate mat fastener such as the seat rail version referenced earlier in this thread?

I have Lloyd mats and they came with the hole where you can screw the cap through and secure it to the floor.

^Same with mine. They even threw in some screw caps with longer stems to make up for the added thickness.

Actually only some mats have the hole and the screw cap. I bought mats off a renlister this year and they have no hole but instead a tether and clip on the underside.

This link shows the part that attaches to the seat rail. Sorry I don't have the part number handy.

edit. Found it.

The clip pictured on the OP's first post is a MAT-LOC, made by GGBailey (https://shop.ggbailey.com/product/ma...ention-system/). You need at least two per mat. I replaced my Lloyd's mats with Coco mats, and put these clips in a drawer somewhere. I didn't think they did a very good job of keeping the mats in place.

3healy Thanks!!
Thanks for the supplier. I'm confused how both clips, already on the driver's side mat, secure to the car to prevent the mat from sliding. The passenger mat doesn't have any clips. And, if this helps, both mats have the Porsche name.
Thanks for the link to the site. It looks like the clip that I have on each side of the driver's side floor mat.
Any additional help will be appreciated.
Thanks- Harry
