Holiday week ahead is going to cut into my timeframe a bit, tackling some of the smaller projects while I can like Carbon/RS heater tube and replacing the bearing in the rear spoiler, Interior hopefully is up next.

Tackling the small projects while I wait on the interior, holidays are coming up so my free time and interior parts arriving will probably time out perfectly......
In the meantime I rebuilt the spoiler motor using a new bearing from Tore and his great instructions. Splitting the case took a bit more effort than expected, and the bearing was in such poor shape it exploded upon removal, but in the end everything worked perfectly and the noise is now gone.
I also installed the Fabspeed Carbon RS Heater Duct, this one was supposed to be an easy install but was anything but. The fitment going into the coupler was so tight it was nearly impossible to get it to stay put in the 964 style inlet. After having it come loose 3-4 times I opted to trim the lower portion of the duct to allow for a bit tighter fitment and replaced the lower clamp for a more secure hold. Fingers crossed, in the process I also revealed at some point the distributor vent tube is no longer attached so a replacement is on the way from Porsche to connect to the tube.
My upper engine pad is in quite nasty shape, after seeing a number of pictures online of the Pad Saver, I reached out to David Etter on Facebook and ordered one for myself. It arrived well packaged and was super easy to install, quite the visual improvement and I'm happy to support another fellow enthusiast brand with their contribution to the community.
The engine bay still needs a deep clean and detail, Sleepers makes a nice titanium cover plate for the heater location that I'll likely add in the near future.

The Fabspeed Demo video looks like it is being installed on a pre-Varioram 993 Engine..? I have found there is some difference in positioning/orientation etc. when I tried [and failed] to fit a [Varioram fitment] M-Gruppe RS Air Filter to my pre-Varioram 993..
The Bypass Pipe is on my To Do List of Mods..

I got it to fit, but it wasn't fun and had to get a bit creative, will know for sure when I get some road time on her. What I had to do was cut down the lower flange on the carbon pipe just slightly to allow for some more wiggle room, I then took the previous coupler that joined the factory pipe near the heater and used it to hold the carbon pipe to the lower inlet giving me a big more flexibility. Fingers crossed, I don't think the Variocam had anything to do with the fitment, I didn't seem to have any clearance problems as a result of it, just simply the tight quarters near the engine pan prevented it from being secure enough to stay put near the fan.

"All late model 993's 1996-98 require the 964 early type fan shroud " which can be seen on the fitment PDF here - https://www.porscheshop.co.uk/bcatal...pe-964-993.pdf

What is the upside of removing the fan? Downside I assume is that the hot air draw to cabin is less strong without it .

This cleans up the engine bay quite a bit, in FL we use the heat maybe 1-2 drives max a year, so I don’t think I’ll miss it.
