Default Project Gold - Porsche's new 993 TT?

Is Porsche building a 993 again??? (forgive me if this has been discussed, didn't see a thread...)

fromFlatsixes:

What Does Porsche Classic Have Up Their Sleeve With “Project Gold”?

A classic body is the starting point for a vehicle that will ultimately become a truly unique piece – assembled in the Porsche Classic workshop and individualized by the sports car manufacturer's designers. Porsche Newsroom accompanies the "Project Gold" right from the start throughout the individual production steps. The series starts with "the Vision".

Now that would be interesting. I'd say go for it, Porsche.

i saw this too. Look forward to seeing more! They're a bit late to the party, but nice to see Porsche doing something with an aircooled car.

Turbo S body. I'm wondering if it will be a one off. A marketing show piece for the Classic dept. Interesting though.

Why are they going to auction it. Weird, not like they need the money. Keep it for promotional use and tour it around for a while

Plenty of these cars for sale if you want them. I am more interested in Porsche making more NLA parts like tequipment aluminum shifters and parking brake. Profit margin is much better in parts anyway.

Apparently Porsche is following Lamborghini's lead …… All still under VAG … but same concept.

It will be interesting to see how this ends up.

I was thinking this would be similar to the project Porsche Classic did a few years ago completely refurbishing a '73 911T for the Parade raffle. But this looks like it may be more involved.

This is very intriguing. Certainly looks like a TTS body, but there are some 959 cues as well - the side markers and (noticed after too many viewings) the fuel/water filler caps on both sides of the car.
