Default Data logging equipment

Looking for advice in data logging brand and recommendation for to supercharger project.

This puts me one step closer to putting the split second box in the trash.

Durametric records some running data on a laptop.

That's true, but I have an Obd1 with the round plug. 996 has a PWIS that he performs services with for a reasonable rate. It was unable to data log my car.

I want to run 2 wide band o2 sensors, one for each bank.

when I wanted to do data logging before I switch computers the durametric could do it I just couldn't fine a way to save it so I could look back at it. I also have the round plug. the durametric pro comes with both obd 1 and 2 plugs. your looking for something like this https://www.autometer.com/wideband-a...2-channel.html

I use RaceCapture Mk2 on my Lemons racer and really like it. It will log 8 or so analog inputs and 3 or so pulse inputs. Will output to a tablet via bluetooth to display real time info and will also save log files with all the detail. There is a log file analysis portion in the software as well. Mine was $450 or so I think.
They have newer, fancier ones that try to talk to the ODB2, but I think both our cars are too old for that.

What inputs do you want to log? Innovate makes products to log analog inputs, frequency / duty cycle, afr, temperature, pressure, etc. Just about everything you could want except ignition timing and gps. You'll need to tap, or add, sensors depending on what you want. Getting data directly from motronic isn't particularly useful. For the 964 at least, the time resolution is only /second out of the motronic data line. You'll want at least 0.1second resolution. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be many logging products available.

I haven't done it in a while but I seem to recall I was able to output Durametric running data and import it into a spreadsheet.

The OBDC 1 car Motronic ECU has no provision for two o2 sensors. I can only see this being done by swapping out the ECU from an OBDCII car. Ideally not from an 96' car as the OBDCII ECU program and electronics in these cars were a bit of a work in process.
Not sure how to adapt any of the OE 993 ECU to use a wideband sensor.

WD,
I'm sure you've talked to Todd at Promotive... do you know what exactly (afr, throttle position, crank sensor, ignition advance...) needs to be logged in order for him to burn you a comprehensive chip that will work with the 60 pound injectorsin with your existing ECU?

Maybe you can reach out to Loren, or Bill V for some help or nudging in the right direction?

I used a combination of zeitronix, durametric, and dyno figures to ensure Todd had correct data for tuning.

http://www.clewett.com/index.php?mai...roducts_id=223 I run this setup It plugs into my computer and I also moved the oxygen sensor to the tail pipe so I can use one sensor and pick up all cylinders.

Hi Everyone, finally found some time to spend with my car.

I requested from Todd what type of information he is looking for.

Nick,
You are correct, I can get so much information, but need to choose the right one.

I will fold this thread into my master thread.

Seems like data logging an OBD1 is harder than I thought.

Many systems are set up for OBD2.
