Question Moving drivers seat back-possible?

I've done a search on this board but couldn't find an answer. The 964 floor was predrilled so that the drivers seat can be moved back a couple of inches. Is the floor pan in the 993 also predrilled to move the rails back in the same manner?

The 'new' car arrived late yesterday with a dead battery so by the time it was charged enough it was too dark for pics-I'll try to post a pic this tomorrow or next weekend.

TIA

Al

It may depend on your seats, but... I've had my "comfort" seats out a couple times and can verify from experience that they only fit into one set of holes if you plan to use all 6 bolts. You might be able to get an extra inch if you decide that 4 bolts are sufficient (1 each side front and rear). I would not use less bolts.

You have the same ability with the 993 to move the seat back an extra inch or so bolting it onto the different holes in the mounting platform. You also have to move the nut assambly in the track to mate up with the new holes.

Congrats on the new car.

VB, would this be the case if the previous owner dropped in sport seats? I'm 6'6" and can use every inch of legroom I can get. Thanks.

Kevin, I did mine myself, very easy but a few things to be careful about otherwise you will end up with a stripped bolt. I work in Agoura and you are welcome to look at and sit in mine to see the difference. I too am 6'6.

Being about as far away from So Cal as one can get, what are the things to be careful about? I have the directions in Adrian's 964 book so those should work-yes?

Thanks again,

Al

Guys,
I am 6'4". I have an awful time trying to toe heel because my knees run into the steering wheel and knee guard. Do you have this problem? I may be using the wrong technique as I am a novice. I am also wondering if the seat moves back then I might have better luck.
