Power isn't necessarily what I need for this car. My other cars have plenty of juice if I want to drive like that. This is more of a nostalgia play. I wanted one of these since they came out in the 90s. Was too poor back then to buy one. Loved the wide body, so I'm still either a C2S or turbo buyer. I did see an amazing C2S online that was grey with red interior, but asking was $139k. It was like new, but I know that would be a bad investment long term. Probably worth $110-120 max to me.

Jay777 collects and posts data of actual selling prices of 993s. Search is your friend.

I asked the same question of the silver one with the bright red interior. To me, that car need a black dash and black door panels to tone it down a bit. I'll be surprised if it sells close to the ask.

Ask prices ARE all over the place. Here's what they're currently trading at :

I don't have enough Turbos in the database yet to see any trends. Will update when I do.

FWIW, I'd make your decision based on the amount of greenbacks you want to part with then buy the best one you can buy. in 2012-2013, the TT's ran up in value FAST. as did all o the 993's- all seems to have slowed now, but I don't think they go backward. A great quality 993 of ANY make ( well let's keep it to hard tops with 6 speeds) are going to hold their value. Personally, I didn't buy to make money- but I didn't want to lose much either. This is my second air-cooled P car and it's been fun to own, care for and I'd get every dollar I have in it, out of it. That's about as good as you can ask for I think.

There's a nice Speed Yellow 993 Turbo in our Classifieds. Did you see that one?

Thanks. I just went and looked at it. Missed that one. Not a bad copy, but not exactly what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a little cleaner copy with the racing seats. Before I get too serious though, I need to go drive them to see what I want to own (2CS or TT). Leaning turbo but still want to drive first. It's tough to find these just to take a test drive! haha.

Comparing same price C2S and turbo, the turbo has a few advantages.

1. Better gearing transmission in North American versions.

2. Your cost per mile ownership will be lower because the C2S will be such a low mile that you will not be able to drive and enjoy the same amount of miles.

3. As miles pile up, a turbo is a turbo. Valuations flatten higher than a C2S.

4. A 993 turbo is not overpowered. In fact, it has just enough to edge out most modern cars 20 yrs younger. NA 993s has less power compared to today's V6 Camry. Just sayin..

5. People here say that 3TTs are less reliable because they are complicated have never owned one. If you use the right oil and refresh all hoses, they are very reliable.

I test drove just about everything over a 3 year period but 15 minutes in a tt and I had to have one. Basically 2wd until you loose traction which will be often! 400+ bhp yielding 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds is still respectable 2 decades on. Prices are already on their way down and will decline further as interest rates rise and speculators sell. Acquaintance recently picked up a mint black 39K mile example for $130K US so shop around.

993 TT
Is an example of Porsche's final and best development of the air cooled 911.
Turbos are rare and they are a joy to drive. If you can find one you like and can afford I think its your best bet.
C2S will always be a Turbo wannabe.

Thanks for the info guys. The turbo is definitely hard to pass up. Never too much horsepower.
