993C2S BBS E88 - Sizing Help Input - Yes I’ve Searched...alot
Currently - Running stock 996 hollow twists 18x8 ET50 front / 18x11 ET45 rear - right now with 5mm front and 15mm rear spacer. So basically that equals 18x8 ET45 & 18x11 ET30 - Running 225/285 tires.
On track I run the same sizing w/ RE71R. Car is very neutral.
So deciding what size BBS E88 to order. I’ll prob run the bbs on the street and use the 996 twists on track but can swap, so doesn’t matter.
Figure if if I should order 18x8 or 18x8.5 front and 18x10.5 or 18x11 rear. As a 285 tire only needs a 10 or 10.5 inch wheel. you don’t want to over stretch a tire for performance purposes and protects it better. I don’t understand why people try to throw as big of a tire as possible on a wheel.
But trying to figure out best offset. I saw someone ran..
“Front 18X8.5" et43 - 225/40/18
Rear 18X11" et33 - 295/30/18”
and saw some Tramont wheels at
-I went 8 1/2" et 45 front, 11" et 38 rear, run 235/295.
and im currently at
18x8 ET45 & 18x11 ET30 due to spacers.
So leaves me thinking
18x8 ET45
18x10.5 ET30
and then tire widths match can run 225 or 235 up front and Re71r measure tread width will match the 8 best. And the 285 rear will be better fitting for a 10.5 instead of 11.

When I had my 993 C4S on the track, I ran 18x9 ET52 (front) and 18x10 ET40 (rears) Hollow Turbo Twists with 245/35-18 & 285/30-18 R7 tires. Car had amazing grip and the wider wheel/tires in the front helped with a quicker turn in.

thanks. Guess nobody’s got any other help here. Think most c2s/4s are just parked now. ;(

It's possible to put a 9" in front
And mines are still for sale https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-marketplace/1065964-bbs-e88-wheels.html
Good luck with your choice!

I'm currently running 19's on my 993. Normally I would have gone 18", but the car actually came with these, I was surprised they were 19. Fitment is great and no issues.
19x9 (et50)
19x12 (et42)
19x9 (et50)
19x12 (et42)

18x9" with 235/40R18
18x12" with 315/30R18
and
19x9" with 235/35R19
19x12" with 315/25R19
Easily could have gone wider!
For a track set-up I would do 245 or 255 front with the appropriate height match (AWD car) for the rear.

Both look great! What offsets did you run?
Easy! 993 WB cars have tons of room! I ran these two combos:
18x9" with 235/40R18
18x12" with 315/30R18
and
19x9" with 235/35R19
19x12" with 315/25R19
Easily could have gone wider!
