Default Seat options and input...

So looking at options...

Recaro Sportsters - folding backs is a plus, saves around ~25lbs per seat. Weigh ~33, stock is ~60

RSR - style backdate seat - style may be too old for a 993 but after driving my friends 73 backdate I fell in love with the seats. So comfy and supportive. Probably quite light too. Any input on this? All the interiors are similar so that works but outside in, not sure.

Recaro Pole Positions - I cant do. But if there was something similar would consider

I daily my car. 993c2s. I have hardback 996 sport seats. Don’t like them very much as it feels like you sit ON them, not IN them.

I've been looking into getting these and having them upholstered: https://www.sparcousa.com/qrt-r

They look similar to pole positions, but lighter (9.9lbs per seat), with a little more room, less expensive, and with actually usable through holes for a harness.

I’ve been looking at these and have sat in them. They may not fit your needs depending on how aggressive and light you want to be but a few 993’s on RL run them and do everything from street to HPDE with them. They are very comfy for daily purposes although every persons idea of comfort is different.

I just installed the Recaro Sportster CS's back in December. Great seat. Just did a weekend trip back and forth between SF and LA for Luft5 (5-6 hrs each way) along with a lot of seat time sitting in LA traffic while I was there. I would say the seats are on the slightly firmer side but decently supportive.

^ you bought those used? I saw silver back for sale almost went and got them. Seems like they work well then. Does it feel “sportier” than stock, sit lower or held in place better?

I bought these new and had them custom upholstered with the 'Recaro' embroidery sub'd out for 'Porsche', the leatherette replaced with double stitched leather, and the backs painted in Arctic sliver to match the car. The mounts that I have push the seat higher than what I had before but the thigh and shoulder bolsters definitely keep you planted more than stock. In fact, the thigh bolsters sit noticeably higher than stock seats. Not so much that it's annoying or anything...but you'll notice the bolsters when you get in and out of the car. Biggest challenge will be how far you can slide the seat back as the center tunnel can start to get in the way the further back you push the seat. My seats are mounted on Recaro Sliders with adjustable tabbed mounts which allow a little bit of height and rake adjustment. I bought the hardware from Griffin Motorwerke here in the Bay area.

LMK if you have any interest in a set of 996 Euro GTs seats configured with 993 sliders.
I'm going to put them up for sale soon.
Definitely NOT foldable backs.

Here shown in my 360.

Cheers

Craig

Default +++ For the possible seller

Craig is one of the best buyers/sellers ever. I know him personally, what a guy, technically very, very sharp. If his seats are for sale, he is the seller you want. They will be exactly what he represents them to be.
