Should I Put a Turbo Bumper on the Cab?
In 2005 I put a turbo front bumper on my '97 cab and liked the look. IMHO, it gives the 993 a much better look. Like every mod we do to our cars, it is personal preference.
I am now considering adding one to my '95 cab. I am having some paint work done on the car so this would be the time to do it. However, I am looking at the 993 from a difference perspective than I did 15 years ago when I had my first 993. I now concerned that I am taking a 23 year old Porsche and making a cosmetic change from a classic OEM look to something the factory never offered. If I saw an early 911 with the wrong bumper on it would stand out and take something away from the car. Or, because the turbo bumpers were put on other non-turbos 993s (albeit not NB ones or cabs) and it is an OEM bumper is it more acceptable.
I've been on the fence with this mod since I got the cab. I have come to the masses to help me with this one. TIA

I was originally going to just add the RS splitters and Turbo brake ducts to my OEM bumper, but I decided to go for the Turbo bumper in the end. I’m very pleased with how it looks, especially paired with the C2S split grille.

Hello, I think it looks good and makes car look more the way they should have done them. I have a spare black turbo bumper for sale, I live in KC and the bumper is in San Diego at a friends warehouse if you are interested. I also have a like new set of BSA 18' wheels and brand new tires as well, all sitting in same warehouse.

Upgrade to the turbo bumper. Keep the original bumper.

Here's mine for reference. Also, I didn't keep my old bumper cover. I had it for sale for months and practically gave it away to a local guy for $125. It was pretty beat up and the US versions don't seem to sell very well anyway as most want to get rid of the bumperettes, so most will fill them on their own bumper or buy a new/used Euro standard bumper w/o the warts.

I have decided to keep the 993 as is. I came to the conclusion that if I was asking and had concerns I should leave it stock. I prefer the turbo bumper look but the stock one belongs on the this 993. And, I can put the savings towards Tramont wheels! Amazing how things work out.
