Default 993 m491

Hello, anyone can tell me what exactly includes the option code M491 in a 993?

I'm looking for a 993 wider and with turbo spoiler ... but some ads announced option M491 without the turbo spoiler.

Thank you for your help.

I'm fairly certain there is no such thing as an "M491" optioned 993, however...

What you're actually looking for is a 993 C4S, with a rear turbo spoiler.
M491 is a turbo-look car, with turbo brakes, suspension, bumper, arb's and a wide body, without the turbo.

Here is a more inclusive answer/discussion...

M491 is turbo look or C4S
M495 is Carrera S ie 2S

I sit corrected...
Bill, will a 993 C4S underhood sticker list the M491code?
or
Could someone with a C4S, please post a picture of their option code sticker located under the frunk hood?

To the best of my knowledge, a C2S does not come with the turbo brakes that are standard equipment on the C4S. This is a significant distinction on a factory Turbo look car.

Here's my '96 C4S options sticker; no sign of M491 on it.

I have never seen the 491 / 495 code on any option sticker but can confirm it appears on the build sheet when pulled.

The build sheet. Is this Ihe same as the windows sticker, or is it the Dealer's Factory invoice?

Perhaps build sheet isn't the correct term, but in my efforts over the past few years, I have learned that the option sticker is just that - it lists only the codes that correspond to the added options contained on the window sticker. There are several codes that are not present on that sticker but are (were) important during the building at the factory.

I have attached snapshot of what I referred to as the "build sheet" of a car I had considered purchasing ... showing codes such as 130, 197, 218, 323, 434, 491, etc that do not appear on the option sticker.

Thank you so much for posting and educating me (yourself and Mr. Verburg)... I would most certainly call that a build sheet.

Does anyone know where I might obtain such a document pertaining to my VIN?

You can get it through stuttcars.com for a €15.00 fee. Create an account, add your VIN under “My Garage”, save the information, and then a button will appear to request your build / option codes.
