Need an Alternator

Reman alternators are not rebuilt with the controls in place of a new one, not even close.
After working in the industry it is clear that the correlation between the brand of a reman component and its actual durability is dubious at best.
I would think the best option would be to call a shop that uses rebuilt alternators and ask their insights as to who seems to supply a reliable product to them. An old-school alternative is to buy new bearings, brushes and a regulator and inspect and rebuild it yourself, something every mechanic did at one time and I am sure is a procedure that is well-documented on youtube.

Found a local shop that has been around a long time and they are doing a full rebuild. I will post details when it is all done and in the car making electric.
