993 RS seat real deal?
About to close a deal on this supposedly 993 RS seat. Looks genuine to me but I have never seen a midnight blue RS interior. What do you guys think?

I am not sure if the OP is saying the seat bucket shell is midnight blue, the car interior is midnight blue or the car is painted midnight blue. The image quality on my smart phone is not good. If I have misunderstood the question I apologise.
What I would say is that the seat bucket shell in an 993 RS did not come as standard in midnight blue. My 993 RS is a midnight blue car and the interior colour (e.g. carpet) is black and the seat shell of the Recaro buckets is gloss black.
This fits with the info in the Porsche Service Information Technik WKD 499 620 from 1996 giving the specs for the 993 RS which states:
"The driver's and passenger's seats are bucket seats of the type already used for the 911 speedster.
The seats have upholstered plastic buckets with leather trim. The central part of the seat is trimmed in black and dark grey perforated leather. The back of the seat bucket is painted the same colour as the vehicle. The seat backs of vehicles with metallic paint are painted black"
Of course, midnight blue is a metallic colour, explaining why the buckets in a midnight blue 993 RS are black.
On the carpet colour the same document states "The interior is black with some interior equipment (belts, opener loops, RS logo on rear wall trim panel) matched with the body colour. On vehicles with black bodies the RS logo is grey."
How one reconciles this last statement with the fact that my car has red belts, door opener pulls and RS logo on the carpet I know not ...!
I hope this is of some use. Even if the seats are not out of a 993 RS, or are but have been pained in the after market, they look broadly correct and make a 993 interior even more of a special place to be IMHO.

Thanks Grogger, interesting info from an RS owner. To clarify, the seat offered is a blue painted shell with blue leather trim, dark blue, not midnight perse. Personally I have not come across an RS with a full blue leather trim or blue painted on the internet or real life but maybe it was a special order option or the shell and leather were painted later on.
Either way, as long as the seat itself is genuine I will buy it. Then comes the task of finding the other half!

I believe some RS's were ordered with recaro's with painted shells and I would not rule out the possibility of a car being produced with a special leather color interior other than black. Rennlister TP81 has a midnight blue RS with red painted shells to match the red belts which if memory serves was original to his car.

The seat is legit. Sonderwunsch made them in different colors for customers willing to pay. I've seen them upholstered with beige, green, and red leather as well. I spoke with the seller and considered it but ultimately decided against it because finding the second one would be impossible. There are also no mounts/sliders which cost a fortune these days.

If someone were to have real rs sliders, which are 928 sliders. What is there value used?

It seems that someone with some metal skills can make adaptors pretty easily to some sliders available today?
