Default Wrecked 993

I have a 1996 NB 993, I took out the driver front fender, mirror, both rims, and the front bumper. I have a few questions,
1. I live in So Cal and was wondering if anyone knows a good source to buy a used front fender and two rims.
2. I have read that some people have installed a turbo front bumper on a narrow body 993, is this possible, with the Turbos wider fenders?
3. The car has only 43,000 miles and needs some other paint touch ups aside from where I hit it, would a full respray be better then just touching up the car and respraying the drivers side?

Than you,

Kevin

Sorry about the prang. Front fender widths are the same for turbos and narrow body cars. I wouldn't repaint the whole car, but it does depend on how the paint is on the rest of the car. I'm going to guess it looks fine. You're just talking about a LF fender, mirror and bumper.

Efren out of L.A. has 993 parts. Goes by Blackbyrd on Pelican. Don't know if he is on Rennlist.

As Mark pointed out, the front fenders are the same between WB and NB, so a Turbo bumper cover will fit with no problems other than needing different fender liner (just the front half, IIRC), a pair of support brackets for the Turbo fender liner, and a couple of additional do-dads that I don't recall at this time. The extra pieces needed aren't expensive.

They would be the last place I'd go, based on what I know some friends have experienced with them. Buyer beware.

Based upon my experience they are the place to go. But you gotta deal with them in person. It’s like anything. Have you found a body shop yet. That, to me is most important. I am in SoCal and can tell you we have some good body shops.

I have used LA Porsche Dismantle numerous times with great results. But, I was there in person with cash in hand. Sadly, Todd, the owner passed away last year.

I know of one person who dealt with them face to face, and one long distance. Both had less than honest dealings. Buyer beware.

Working with Efren (blackbyrd) requires a bit of patience but he is a good resource.

You could also try Parts Heaven. They are up here in the Bay Area but would probably ship down to you:

It is not uncommon to hear bad stories.
I have used them in the past. Had some suff that had to be sent back and became an issue but they made it right.

At the end of the day, a part is a part. And if they have it with fair market price, then take it.

Just make sure you get a good picture and discription because returns are possible but shipping is a money racket.
