Default Serious, what should I list my car for?

bELOW is my ad. I'm 70 and arthritis makes it difficult to get in and out. I do not need to sell. The car is advertised here on Rennlist. I have had some inquiries. Just would like collective Rlister wisdom. This ia great car..

Porsche 911 1998 C4S, 22,8xx miles, Arctic Silver with classic grey interior. I've owned for 14 years. This is my 7th 911 and 11th Porsche over 50 years. Protomotive Stage II twin turbo engine producing 530 crank horsepower installed at 14k miles. Engine cost in 2003 was $32K. Engine is bullet proof. Bilstein PSS9 adjustable suspension. Extra Cargraphic Oil cooler installed in left front fender keeps engine very cool on hottest days. All systems, AC, radio, CD player, etc work flawlessly. Never any paint or body work. Never tracked or abused. This is a special car. One of 299 imported in 1998. Call or text. 919-523-5453

So a "home made Turbo." I'd ask 80% of what 993 Turbos are going for. I'd definitely list it as a "993 Turbo Tribute"

Really hard to say. Sad to say, but if it the engine had not been modified, it would be worth more I think.

The low miles and condition really raise the value, but the extensive engine turbo mod really hurts it at that mileage.

Good luck with the sale

Thing is, one can buy a real 993 Turbo from the factory with similar mileage at around $120K-$140, so I doubt this car could fetch anywhere near that price.

OP, here's a factory 993TT with the similar mileage that got no bites at an opening bid of $120K and ended earlier today:

The more info you get, the more realistically you can be with your price

I'm just sad that you only got to put 8,800 miles on that bad boy after spending $32k on motor work.

GLWS. It's a cool car.

$90K - $105K but I would wait until March to list. At the end of the day this is still a basterdized C4S not a Turbo. GLWS

So ya all Know. It's not home made. The engine mods cost $32K in 2003. Complete rebuild. Forged rods, pistons, flame hardened rings, twin turbo, high flow injectors, comp clutch. etc. This is not a "bo;t on kit". Todd Knighton, the Protomotive guru, has been mentioned favorably numerous times in Bruce Anderson books for his engine work.

Possible reason for no bids: Listed price is $170K

That must be a beast to drive. Tough one to value. Somewhere between $90-$110k would be my guess. I don't think the mods add any value compared to a original 98 4S in the same condition unfortunately. Best of luck with the sale!

It is a beautiful car...no doubt. The problem is that it is neither a factory turbo nor a factory C4S. Its value is definitely less than a factory turbo and anyone who wants a factory C4S won't be interested. I would say it would be priced around a C4S because that's what it is and you never get a return on mods UNLESS the mods line up with what another person wants on the car.

I would list at $110K and take anything over $100K.

Personally, I would be proud to own it and your mods would be a plus for me.

I would follow the RUF modded C4S on BAT for value direction when that auction ends.
