WTB - 993 with manual transmission

I am looking for a black on black 993. Must have a 6 speed manual.

Prefer the following:
- One owner
- Full documentation and history
- No (or few) modifications
- Up to 50 / 60K miles OK
- Black exterior preferred
- Black interior preferred
- No paint or bodywork - must be original
- No significant flaws on the interior - must be clean
- Not yet decided between C2 or C4
- Carrera is desired, but might consider a cab at the right price. S is out of the price range.
- 6 Speed manual only (required)

What do you have?

Mike

ps - I'm asking for a friend who is ready to buy.

Good luck, Mike!
The more specific your requirements, the less likely you will find what you desire.
I hear the used car factory is no longer taking orders... ; )

Good luck with that list. No seriously, you may have to loosen your ask criteria a bit :D ....plus the fact that most are now 23 plus years old. Many have been wrecked, modified to the hilt, salvage title .... and on and on .........

Given that ONLY 2,884 C4 993s 1994-97 were ever produced "World Wide"
and 38,626 993 C2 1993-97 were produced "World Wide" you may have to widen your search Internationally.

Absolutely understand -- everything is a compromise. The only real hard requirement for this car is a manual.

Glad that you posted "preferred" as that implies some flexibility. Now if you would have posted that as a "must have" list... Ask them what the top 3 or 5 colors are preferred, or any specific color to avoid.

I ended up looking for about 6 months, as I was looking in the lower price range and realized it would need some work to make it mine. Good luck, they always seem to be on the "other" coast when you do find one. :p

i HAVE SEEN About 8 cars here in the North and there maybe 1 comes close to that list in Ontario
2nd was a 1996 Porsche 993,73000 Mls, its Arena Red with a two tone Black/ Silver leather interior with Dealer Built New Top End- Alberta RL Member, if not mistaken.
Pfaff and Oakville Porsche in Ontario and
1 Black and 1 Silver in Quebec, home of the Cdn Formula 1 Race
I found a black cat with 75000. Remember the exchange lowers ask $

Just FYI. No personal interest in any of these cars.

Re: having high option list requirements? Funny things can happen. With my recent Gen 1 Spyder purchase I just said to numerous brokers that I wanted a Silver / Red / MT / LWBS / Crests and got the same response as you're getting here I.e. "Good luck buddy ordering it from the factory" etc... And a month later mine surfaced on AutoTrader. The only thing that wasn't quite optimal was the mileage, sitting at around 37,500. OK. So what. And it was all the way across the country on the east coast which meant it most likely wasn't driven in the winter. The paint is perfect. The ad didn't make it through the weekend. Bamm.

So my opinion is go for what you want, be prepared to wait, and then get ready to act when the close-to-perfect as possible black on black MT surfaces. Good luck!

Yeah, but a Gen 1 Spyder isn't 20 years old either.

It's easy to find things like a one owner car, with all original paint and a complete service history, on a newer car. But the older the car, the less likely all the bullet points on the OP's 'wish list' will be met.

I've never understood why people who are looking for one of these don't do their own search on Auto Trader, Cars.com, Craigslist, and PCA website etc. That is usually where one will find cars that are for sale. It takes patience if you want something specific, but has always worked for me.

Ken,
What you just described, takes time, patience and effort; and only one set of eyes.
I think it's smart to post here, utilizing a whole community of eyeballs that may come across what the OP seeks. After all, one can't be in all places at all times.
While 993s are not getting snapped up as previously seen; I for one, would like to have as much time as possible discovering the car of my interest, without the worry of somebody buying it out from underneath me.
Jus my $.02
