While I understand the appeal of passing on while in the driver's seat of your beloved sports car, romanticizing and glossing over the fact that someone died while driving beyond their capacity (yes, in part due to weather/road conditions) and thereby endangering the well-being of others has its dangers too.
When driving at any speed in any car, it is the driver's responsibility to know their limitations and act within them.
I never met Richard. I loved his 993 story in Panorama, and I certainly consider his loss a blow to the 993 and PCA community. My heart goes out to his family and friends as well.

Well, the driver and passenger of the truck that he hit were taken to the hospital, so I wouldn't go so far as to say he went out without hurting anyone else.

Very sad news. Based on the description in the news article, I wonder if he had an MI or stroke behind the wheel causing him to swerve into the oncoming lane.
Condolences to his family.
