The original Porsche inflaters were good for filling one flat tire or two at most before the plastic internals failed. A 20 year old example might be able to fill a tire half way. I would consider a nice functional one from Harbor Freight just in case you actually will need it to work.

Then again I wonder what speed a 20 year old collapsible spare tire is good for?

I've stored my OEM compressor and purchased a Slime branded one. For the price and the size, it works really well.

There are always a couple on eBay. They're not cheap ~$300, but I got what looks like a new (never used) one. Even has both tabs on the case that seem to break off. Don't plan on ever using it, but I wanted everything that originally came with the car. Check it out.

Regards,
John

Thank you for the responses. I found one. I am aware of their limitations, actually have a newer unit in the frunk. Just wanted one for nostalgia and if car is sold(never, hopefully).

A used VW, Audi etc compressor is an inexpensive good reliable choice. It more or less the same as the compressor that came with my Panamera GTS.
i put my factory unit on the shelf with other original pieces from my 993 cabrio that are important to have, but that I typically don’t use

THIS- had one- doesn't work for beans. Got one at Northern Tool here in town and it's quiet and works great- This is NOT a value add to your car- get something that you can depend on.

This is what I've been using for all my vehicles and bicycles for the past 10 years. Never let me down, although it works best with direct connection to the battery rather than the cigarette lighter connection
